Kareage distributes an affordable and effective Cordless Doorway Sensor that helps to reduce unauthorized exits from a resident’s room. It can also help to alleviate the emotional stress and physical injury for residents with Dementia when they unintentionally wander out of their room. This device is designed to integrate with a Nurse Call System so that it allows nurses and carers to take appropriate action as quickly as possible to ensure the safety of the residents.
The Doorway Sensor is simple to use and easy to install. It has an exclusive RF protocol that communicates with either Indigo Care’s Cordless Receiver (RRU) or Call Point with an in-built RF receiver module. It also works alongside our other Cordless Sensor Chair, Bed & Floor Mats, PIR’s, Neck & Wrist Pendants.
The Doorway Sensor has 2 parts –(a) RF Transmitter (RTU), a small box which is secured to the actual door and (b) the magnet for the reed switch, which is secured to the door frame. Each part will be secured in such a way that they line up when the door is closed.
A pair of screws is supplied for easy installation. Alternatively, you can use double-sided tape or Velcro at your own discretion. When the door is opened, the Doorway Sensor will trigger the RF Receiver, alerting the staff through the nurse call system. The unit is powered by a CR2032 Coin Battery and has a separate ON/OFF switch for activation mode at a specific time of the day.
